Hi CrAzYbOy0981

You should be more specific. Whether the DesktopX and builder loads without any theme or not and it loads any object or not. Whether the classic desktopX theme which comes with desktopX is loading or not.
Anyway you can try any one of this:-

1)Extract the themefile you are loading to any folder and then load it.

2)If Nothing works then You can try for this. After extracting your theme file to a folder open it with Winrar or anyother archiever. Then go to

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\CurrentTheme

and Extract the files within the theme to this folder and run Dx. Then Load the desktop anyway and you should get it.

Thanks a lot starkers. I am glad that you liked my work. Thanks for telling that it works in Vista.

Thanks MrPizzaMan But its hard to understand why people comment in so much complicated way.
I can't even understand whether you liked my work or just wrote for fun.

All DX themes don't work right with Vista. Maybe someday they'll fix it. People have weird taste....

Great but....DesktopX keeps crashing until I remove your theme?

Comment #32 Tuesday, August 28, 2007 3:27 PM
As far as I understand it must be a problem of your Dx settings or a corrupt download file otherwise Like many others I myself using it for more than one month and haven't faced any crash.
The problem may be because of using theme file directly from zip without extracting, In this way many components of theme fail to load.

So You may try for fresh download file and loading theme file after extracting(If you are not doing so at present.)

I am sorry to say that I didn't think I was ever going to fix things when I tried to switch from this skin to another. The taskbar and the start menu persisted in remaining. Then all signs of Vista's appearance disappeared and the computer seemed to think I was running windows classic.( after restarting )

I admit to being new at this, but I somehow don't think these things are supposed to happen.
I did finally fix it by restarting and then switching to a suite that I knew had worked fine before.
It is a very pretty theme, but made me sweat a time or two.
Also there were several misspellings on the buttons, etc...which is why I tried to switch from it in the first place. I just was annoyed at seeing "bin is ful" and "exxit"
Comment #39 Monday, September 10, 2007 12:41 PM
I think you are new to this thats why its all happening. It is a DesktopX theme and doesn't at all deals with your system start menu or otherthings. If you are facing problems over unloading it and loading a new theme then you please right click on DesktopX icon on systray and unload it first then load your desired theme.
And I have written exxit and bin ful willingly because they suited the theme in some or more ways. Buttons only signify what they have to do.

If you want to change these spellings then its so simple...just follow these steps...

1)Right click on DesktopX client and select switch to Dxbuilder.

2)Give time to Dxbuilder to load.

3)After loading completes right click on the object whose spelling you want to change.
and select properties.

4)Go to states tab.

5)Change the text in the text box for each state. You can edit text for individual states by selecting them one by one and editing the text for each.

6)At last click on O.K. and you are all done.

Hope that you have got what you want and now there will be no problem in using this pretty theme.
