Sorry, but I just see no sense in spamming the DX library by taking the same base weather object again and again and again and just differ it by cutting and pasting windows of different skins and place it in there...

I think c242 is completely wrong
It is VERY convienent for skinners particulary people who do themes and Winstyles - they need weather objects to go with a wide variety of Windows Blinds and such
C242 has a real problem

I know what c242 means but on the other hand you can look at it like skinning that particular weather object, in the same way that people make skins for rainlendar. Whilst the layout of rainlendar never varies very much, there is a constant demand for new skins to match the latest windowblinds or sysmetrix or dx themes etc.
Personally I try and make my weather objects a little bit different to the norm, but that's just me. I can appreciate that people want new skins for old weather objects, the layout of which is quite functional and appropriate.
I think there is room for both approaches.

I thought skinning was about creativity and some other things. Oh well... Seems pretty well to be 'Skins on demand' and for attention nowadays. And in my opinion nothing looks better than a nice fitting wall and the blank weather object on it to a skin. Tiggz : And Your 'Killer' skin is complete contrary to these.

Just to leave no misunderstanding : Tiggz, I love Your Killer objects. No do a meter object, will You ?

yeah c242, like I say, I do know exactly what you mean, I have had similair thoughts myself. However, I can appreciate that there is a demand for more straighforward ports and so on, although I can't see myself doing any

I get what your saying c242 but then again, I have want for these objects as well. I think it is fine when someone takes the time to make objects based off of the original work. I think it actually happens allot here and at other skin and art sites.

I do not believe he is making a skin object just to say he made a skin and get downloads.

When it comes to getting skins for Rainy, SysMetrix and DX that match a particular theme, go to SS GOKU. He does that very well. And as SS GOKU says, there are many who do want these objects... like in the screenshots section.

c242 - When done with permission from the original author, it seems to me that someone making things like this is just taking some of the tedious effort from the original artist by producing matching items which some people will appreciate. They all seem competantly done too.

I wouldn't use them myself as I don't use the weather objects (though I do use an ObjectDock docklet at times), but I can see how it is useful for people who would use them and would like everything to match their choosen theme.
