Brown, so since you bought it, how do you like it and was it worth it?

I would gladly pay $5 for quality work but I would want it in the native resolution of my monitor which is 2560x1600. Can anyone tell me what the resolution is?

For those that complain about selling this-- what do you think these people do for a living?? I value professionalism and skill and will pay for it.

eye surgeon -
1280x720.

It's high enough quality that it scales exceptionally well to my 1680x1050 laptop monitor.

Most of poeples had to pay almost 500$ for Windows Vista Ultimate, for what??? Extras (Dreamscene) and bitlocker. Microsoft affiliates with wincostumize.com to provide animated wallpapers, do they want to keep us paying and paying again?? sorry but i'll find THIS dream somewhere else. And i didnt told where...

Download Sylock Red, it's the same resolution as this one.  It will give you an excellent idea of how Blissful Sunset will look on your monitor.

If A happens, then what will happen is that a LOT of high quality FREE content will be made by authors who are looking to increase their access to the level where they can create premium ones.

Why can't anyone say the obvious.....If "A" happens Stardock receives tons of free content produced by amature artist to help create a need for and sell stardock software, lets face it 90% of users would not have any use for the software without free content. For the so called "master skins" this is nothing more than another source of revenue for a buisness aka: Stardock. In my personel opinion I dont see how Stardock's deskscapes extends MS windows dreamscene beyond what MS intended the program to be, honestly it seems to me this is just a simple case of "King(MS)throwing crumbs to the pawn and the pawn trying to make money off the crumbs" well thats my 4.95 worth.

In earlier posts it was pointed out to us that you would feed us ( Dreams - that is ) a little at a time - you don't want to Peak to soon - to keep us coming back for more . You didn't mention that you would be charging for the " Good Stuff " but now we know . So now buy or not buy , as for me I'll pass on this one . One Question though will it only be Stardock Designed Dreams for sale or will others be able to sell their work ? Lucky for me I have such programs as Premier and Vegas , etc. that allow me to make my own High-Quality Video that can now play on my desktop as a Dream and then present some here for others to have soon as DreamMaker works on my computer , right now it doesn't but you are helping with that . It Looks like the Dream thing is here to stay with interest peaking daily. It will be interesting to see how all of this unfolds including the paid ones - as for me can't wait to get going soon as DreamMaker gets fixed for me . This one is very nice though would really be nice if the sun got brighter somehow and then a night time version of this with Moonlight ...... much to look forward too .....

I make over $60k a year and $5 is too much for me for one dream. You know you're not going to use only one. That's why you're here with the rest of us, foaming at the mouth, waiting for more to come out. I've switched back & forth between every single one over the last few days. Are you going to tell me you haven't? No matter how much you like this one, it will get old fast.

There are a lot of ways for artists to make money off of their creations without charging the end user directly. I have hundreds of great wallpaper images that no one ever charged me for.

That being said, I MIGHT spend a couple of dollars if the sun wasn't so bright and if I could see what it looked like full sized. There's no way I'm paying $5 to get a dream with the possibility that I might not like it once it's in place. $1 or $2 for one that I KNOW is fantastic would be another story.

Zoomba, oh a "professional animator" did this, well I guess that makes it alright to rip people off then- it couldn't have taken the animator long, considering that only the grass moves. This dream is not worth a damn penny in my opinion (it's really not that cool)- the only reason Stardock is charging for it is because they know people will buy it after seeing it displayed in the Microsoft Dreamscene previews. Stardock is greedy, plain & simple- just like all other businesses. Stardock will milk this for all it's worth & make a hell of a profit- & I really can't blame them.

The main issue with having native-resolution movies for large screens is that they start taking up a significant amount of CPU time to render. If you double the pixel count each way, that's four times the amount of data that must be stored and processed. Our Dreams are made to Microsoft's performance guidelines, which specify that they only take a maximum of 10% of the average target system's CPU. Even on machines rated for Windows Ultimate, that can be hard to achieve. Those who make their own will probably see this.

It's also worth noting that dreams are intended to be backgrounds, and so a certain amount of blurring of digitally-generated pixel-sharp imagery is not necessarily a bad thing. This depends on the situation, and obviously some dreams will benefit from sharpness more than others.

SIXX: That's because we've not released all of our dreams yet.

AzDude: Probably done by object count in the 3D renderer.

And I think moonlight on a lake would be nice, personally.
