SysStats is truly a great program with a lot of potential.  It gives Object Dock a direct link with your systems resources.  *Please Be Patient* and do your reading before installing.  This download does not come with any ready-to-work docklets right out of the box.  You must install it and then get some add-ons to work on it.  I tested it with XP SP3, and it really works wonderfully with the optional add-ons.

>Here are my suggested add-ons for it.  I have tested and reviewed all of these except the HDD & RAMspace meter.

>Bug Alerts

  • Don't use anything (including add-ons) that have to do with the weather.  In my OD 2.0, Win XP, using any of them resulted in instant-crash.
  • Network Monitoring can be tricky.  To get this going do Right Click > Meters [Select In, Out, Rx, or Tx > Configure > Configure > Performance Objec t > Network Interface > Bytes Sent or Recieved/sec & Select your Network Card on the Right > Ok > Ok > Ok.  However, it can work.
  • MBM or CPU temperature monitoring only works on processors with that technology equpped, configured.

Judge, you are the man!  This is a really needed product for Object Dock.  You should also include Pack 1 with this download to make it easier on users.

I save it but after this when I click configure OD+ crashes every single time. What am I doing wrong. I am running windows 7 ultimate 64bit. please help!

Unzipped into .../ObjectDock Plus/

Loaded up the UI, went into "Add Docklet" and tried to add to my Tabbed Dock. It immediately crashes OD+ and I have to reload it.

Bug Report!

First of all I have to say that this docklet is a great feature, really easy and fully customizable. But I found a very major bug in the Sysstats system. It does not support different language packs of OS'.

To illustrate, lets suppose we want to monitor the Network traffic with Sysstats. We have to add a PDH Meter class and choose our Network Interface. For instance in an English WinXP the counters value is as follows:

\Network Interface(#Ethernet Controller Name#)\Bytes Received/sec

But in a WinXP-TR installation (which is a Turkish Windows) the value is:

\Ag Arabirimi(#Ethernet Controller Name#)\Alinan Byte/sn

Sysstats monitors the interface without problems, but cannot save the config(.ini) file of the docklet. It fails to save at the first "g" letter in this example. The metter wil work when configured manually, but won't be saved, and when the dock is reloaded you will see an empty docket.

It also won't save the config file if you use one of these Turkish characters (g,i,s, G, I, S) in the docklet label. This mostly is because, it uses ascii format saving and loading the config files. And this bug will occur in all other windows language packages where these alien characters to ascii exist. This problem could be easily fixed using UTF-8 or Unicode when saving config files.

Thanks again for this great tool. I'll be eagerly waiting for a fixed release.
