We apologize for any inconvenience, but this maintenance is aimed at improving forum performance.  Thank  you for your patience!

Well after a nice vacation of moving boxes and getting our new house ready, I am back!  There is so much to catch up on as I didn’t have internet access for much of my time away, so I’m anxious to hit the galleries and see what’s been going on.

Here are some featured picks that I found so far!

In the latest edition of the WinCustomize Member Spotlight, we have another valuable member of the community to showcase.  That person is jazzymjr!  She has been a member since March 2004, and has been a big contributor to the WinCustomize community, especially in the WindowBlinds gallery.  Going back and looking through her gallery, I seen a great variety of WindowBlinds skins that while they have a varied style, it always has a signature “jazzymjr” look.

Take a browse through her WinCustomize gallery, and I have no doubt you will find some fantastic skins to use.  Congrats on the spotlight, and keep up the great work!

The Master Skin library keeps getting bigger, and the quality of these skins are nothing less than superb.  WindowBlinds skins are usually the most popular, but we have many other skins like .dreams, DesktopX themes, and more.

These are some of the top Master Skins on WinCustomize.

Check them out - and enjoy...

Now Available!

Jun 25, 2009 6:30 PM by Alexandra Discussion: WC News

Stardock is excited to announce the availability of IconPackager 5 – Beta 1 today! IconPackager is an application that allows Windows users to change the icons in Windows Vista, XP, and now, Windows 7.

This is the first release of IconPackager for Windows 7, and the goal of this release is to get IconPackager working on Windows 7, and then add the “pretty stuff” later in development. All but one of the new Windows 7 icons should be skinnable though.

Remember, this is an early beta and there may be bugs

More info about the beta:

  • Windows 7 support
  • The live folders preview for the default icons don't show the folders
  • Padlock Icon support

Windows XP and Vista users will not notice any huge changes, this release is primarily about Windows 7. This release requires Windows 7 Build 7100 RC. Right now, the beta is available for Object Desktop subscribers via Impulse. You can still get the beta by becoming a subscriber. Visit www.objectdesktop.com for more information.

Make sure you have the "Show pre-release versions" checked in Impulse to see the beta.

The transfer of GUI Champs ‘08 skins is just about complete, and the last batches are from the IconPackager category.  Going through the GUIC galleries reminded of how great the submitted icon packs were.  If you didn’t check them out during the contest, head over to the WC gallery and take a look.

The Month Endeth [or will-eth]

Jun 23, 2009 3:29 AM by Jafo Discussion: WC News

The end of the month is getting closer and closer, but if you haven’t posted your current desktop screenshot in our monthly desktop thread, then it’s not too late.  This is always one of my favorite threads as it’s cool to see what people have on their desktop on a daily basis.

If you take screenshots on a regular basis, then I always recommend using either SnagIt, or Jing from TechSmith.  They are both awesome apps for screenshots.  Check them out and let me know how you like them.

Head over to our June desktop thread and post your desktop!

The Marathon Icons see their third Marathon in 3 months.

Jun 22, 2009 4:24 AM by mormegil Discussion: WC News

Despite the risk to my poor IPhone, I drug it along on the Mayors marathon yesterday so I could record a special thank you to everyone who bought the Marathon icons.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=na2MBQqZp3o

With your help, my wife and I were able to raise over $8000 dollars for LLS, If you include all the Team In Training runners who came to Alaska we raised over 1.7 million dollars.

I will be able to continue selling the Marthon Icons for Team in training for at least the rest of the year, so tell a friend what a great deal they are and what a great cause they support.

Beside all that I want to say a personal thanks, your support made a big differance, and a huge shout out to Stardock for donating 100% of the sales, including bandwidh cost to the cause.

If you want to see more pictures form the race you can follow me mile by mile here. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2027168&id=1124224098&l=4a8051258d
