Monthly Screenshot Thread
An extension of the screenshot gallery?

I'm just curious here. Is the "Monthly Screenshot Thread" just an extension of the screenshots gallery or for people to post what their desktop looks like this month? It seems people are just using it as an extension of the gallery with 3-5 screenshots. I know people change their desktop...but 3-5 times a day?

Seems to me it's lost its 'meaning'.....
It's more or less been "hijacked" be a small group of users, über spamming the thread with pointless images.
Use the Screenshot Section ffs.
All the good stuff gets burried in the heap of mindless "uh... I change skins multiple times a day, just to be noticed" people.

Okay, so what was the original meaning or purpose of starting the thread?
If the original meaning or purpose of the thread has been lost, then why does it keep showing up?
It might help to identifly what was the original meaning of the thread was and still is to help the new members understand.

Asking questions is how folks learn. Even if the person asking the question knows the answer it is a means for letting the newer members of the community to be able to better understand.
Come Spring time my father would always get mad at me because I pulled the plants out with the weeds. They all looked the sme to me. A little information would have helped.

Philly....WG is curious about the Forums being used as the monthly desktop thread, if I'm reading the OP correctly, instead of using the screenshots gallery for that purpose.
I could be wrong....but not about skinhit.

The monthy thread is there for the community to post their desktop(s) sceenshot for "the month". I have three systems I use daily, my office desktop, laptop and home desktop, so I wouldn't feel bad posting all three in a day.
I don' t think it bothers anyone if you post a shot or 2 a week but if you wish to post one every day or multiple shots per day then the Screenshot library is a better solution. The trick here is not to have a few individuals who account for every other post in the thread.

That wouldn't be a problem since you have 3 desktops...it's just the guys that are performing these quick backstage costume changes and posting a desktop a minute.

I understand it's sorta like the Honeymoon (for new users)....then 'changing' becomes less frequent as time goes by.
