Have You Started Making Any Travel Plans?
Tuesday, April 13, 2021 by Island Dog | Discussion: Life, the Universe and Everything
We discussed last year how many travels plans were cut due to the pandemic, so I thought it would be fun to check in and see if anyone has started making any travel plans yet. As I mentioned in that post, we had several cruises cancelled, and took a break from planning for at least the rest of that year.
Since the cruise industry is still being shut down by the CDC, we hope that lawsuits by the state of Florida and the pressure from other governors and the industry associations will get things moving soon. We have two scheduled for the end of the year and I'm starting to get at least a little excited.
So, what about you? Have you traveled at all, or are you planning any trips over the rest of the year?
Here's another drone video from the Caribbean, just for your viewing pleasure.

We've had several cruises cancelled last year and this year, but we are scheduled for long cruises in 2022 and 2023. We are planning on trying to go to Hawaii in August of this year, and are keeping our eyes on what they are requiring as far as proof of vaccination goes. We have the cards that show we were vaccinated, but aren't sure that will be sufficient for the state of Hawaii. You'd think they'd want to restart their tourism industry.

Strict lockdowns have kept Oz pretty safe by International standards...but that means a shitload of vaccines ordered from Europe never turned up cos they needed them more. So while the US vaccine rollout is going well...I think we've just about made it to 4%...so no-one's going to be visiting here for a while yet.
....and Oz was the first place to isolate and replicate the virus...
If the world ever gets safe again we're overdue a trip to the US...and Stardock Central...

We are heading down to Florida this summer for vacation. We skipped last year due to the travel restrictions but so far it looks like we will be good this year. The family is really looking forward to getting away and enjoying some beach time.

Not international, but within the US.
The pandemic is not over, but the 'national health emergency' is. Has been for a while. With a very high percentage of the most vulnerable among us now vaccinated and such a large number of people who have had the illness & recovered, we are safe to resume normal life. The risk of death from COVID is now incredibly small and falling. The despots are just milking fear for all that it's worth.
