Changing window and text background color

Saturday, February 17, 2024 by cabarid | Discussion: Beginners

Hi. I'm new to Windows 10. I only need to change window and file explorer background color and text background color (notepad etc) into tan, camel or paper bag color -this is most comfortable for my irritable eyes. Most themes and skins does not change this. I installed Windowblinds trial but it doesn't seem to do the job. What are my simplest options? Thanks in advance.

For a comfortable eye experience in Windows 10, you can adjust the window background color. While third-party apps might not directly change it, Windows 10 offers built-in options.

Here's the simplest way:

  1. Right-click your desktop and select "Personalize."
  2. Click "Colors" on the left.
  3. Choose a tan, camel, or paper bag color from the options, or use the color picker for a specific shade.

This adjusts window backgrounds for most programs, including File Explorer. Text background color might not change, but some programs have their own settings. Consider exploring online tutorials on customizing specific programs like Notepad.

For a deeper dive into Windows customization, you can find free online graphic design courses, which often cover interface personalization.
